I've no doubt if I visited Granada for long, you'd find me in the bell tower of the Iglesia la Merced often. The views of the skyline from here definitely lived up to the stories I heard when we arrived in this colonial city on the banks of Lake Nicaragua.

I feel like this textured piece is very much a postcard view of Granada. The term postcard perfect sometime takes on a diminutive flavor these days, but a really good postcard view is timeless and captures a flavor of the subject. When I edited this skyline scene, I wanted it to look aged, like, yes, an old postcard from Grandma's trunk. I think the textures achieve that goal, and for me the rest of the story is in the subject, colorful rooftops, the city's grand cathedral, and in the distance the waters of Lake Nicaragua, the reason this city was established here. I definitely think this is a strong taste of what it means to be in Granada.
