Wonders of Antiquity - Khafre's Pyramid

Of the three pyramids at Giza, each was built a bit smaller than the prior one, out of respect. Pictured here is the second pyramid, the tomb of Pharaoh Khafre. I've seen many pictures where this is mistakenly referenced as the Great Pyramid, because it looks a bit taller today.
That appearance is due to this pyramid being the only one to retain a portion of its casing stone. If you look at the pinnacle of this pyramid, you'll see part of the polished limestone that originally covered the entire outer surface of all three pyramids.

Still, that tiny hint of what was makes the second pyramid special. It's amazing to stand at the base of something this massive and imagine that it was long ago even more spectacular!

I've added textures to this photo to add a vintage feel which seems to suit the only one of the ancient wonders of the world remaining from antiquity!
