As beautiful as the exterior of the Alabaster Mosque is, the inside of the 19th century Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha could only be described as opulent. I think this particular picture of the mosque speaks volumes. I remember being pretty much floored when we walked inside and I saw the level of detail to the domes, the stonework, etc. This is definitely an example of the highpoint of Ottoman style architecture.When I took this photo my aim was to capture the feeling of looking up into those massive domes atop the mosque. A print should definitely be accompanied by a sense of wonder.
