Fox on Peachtree

Pictured here is the Fox Theatre, a staple on Peachtree Street, the main artery through Atlanta. The Fabulous Fox was built in the late 1920’s but was nearly demolished in the 1970’s. While many of the other grand movie palaces of Atlanta were lost, the Fox Theatre was saved by citizens and continues to draw audiences today.

This photo for this print was taken with my fisheye lens as I wanted to try for something a little different and I really liked the result in this application. This is one of the last in my Atlanta Icon series. I literally took this photo the last week I lived in Atlanta before moving on to follow other dreams. When I look at this photo, I feel like I'm standing there again, and it's interesting that others have told me they feel as if they can step into this one as well. Maybe my feelings somehow bled into the picture itself.
